Challenge & Considerations
-
Only 11.7% of US adults have read a poem in the last year (WordsRated).
 -
In user interviews, many non-poetry readers reported not knowing where to encounter poetry by living writers.
-
PoetryAM seeks to be a simple, user-friendly introduction to contemporary poetry through a clean digital interface and inviting content design.
Process
Beginning with user interviews, I developed a content strategy to address non-poetry reader pain points:

-
Collaborated with a graphic designer to produce a brand logo;

-
Developed a voice chart for content governance;

-
Wireframed and designed website within Figma.

Results
This project earned a 2023 Individual Artist Grant from the Greater Columbus Arts Council. At this stage, I am prototyping the website, writing promotional content, and learning Webflow. I anticipate launching the website this summer, with our first live reading in early August.
